How To Write A Formal Letter [With Sample]

A Formal Letter is any letter that is written from a higher authority to a lesser one, a lesser authority to a higher one or both. It is also known as an official letter, can be written from an organization to an individual, an individual to an organization or organization to organization.

For a letter to be taken or referred to as formal, the writer should make the diction lack lax and be ‘stiff’. An official letter bears two addresses, a title written before the salutation, the salutation, and the body of the letter, closing, signature, designation, and name.

There are different types of a formal letter: Application letter, resignation letter, sack letter, cover letter, just to mention.
