How to Write An Acceptance Letter [with Sample]

An Acceptance Letter is any letter written to show that the writer has agreed willingly to the topic of discussion which at times ranges from job offers, resignations, and promotions to invitations to events.

When writing this letter of acceptance, the writer should be explicit and crisp as it often takes a formal tone, unless in some situations when the recipient of the letter is either family or friend. Then, and only then, can the writer be as lax as wanted.

Formal or informal tone alike, an acceptance letter should not fail to clearly express what is being accepted. In a formal setting, that is, when writing to an unfamiliar person, the date when the letter is effective should be evident and should also not have any form of casual language.

Dear Joseph,

I know it has been ages since I last wrote to you for which I am direly sorry. I was surprised when I received your wedding invitation card because I didn’t think after all this time that has passed, that you would actually remember me.

Well, the aim of this letter is to inform you that I have accepted your invitation and to assure you that I’ll be in your wedding for sure. August 19, I promise that I’ll be there. We should catch up before your wedding though. If you think so, then write me back stating where and when.

I’ll be expectantly waiting for your reply.

Yours sincerely,
Akin

Thank you.
